Itinerary
Day 1 — Tangier to Chefchaouen via the Rif Mountains
Your guide picks you up from your Tangier accommodation and heads east through the rugged Rif Mountains. The winding road reveals dramatic gorges, forested ridges, and hilltop Berber villages before descending into the valley of Chefchaouen. Arrive in the early afternoon with time to explore the cobalt-blue lanes, the lively main square, and the local craft shops at your own pace. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Day 2 — Chefchaouen to Fes via Meknes and Volubilis
Depart Chefchaouen and travel southeast toward the imperial heartland of Morocco. Stop in Meknes, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities, to visit the monumental Bab Mansour gate and the historic medina. Continue to the remarkably preserved Roman ruins of Volubilis — a UNESCO World Heritage Site with mosaic floors and towering triumphal arches still standing in open countryside. Arrive in Fes by early evening. Overnight in Fes.
Day 3 — The Ancient Medina of Fes
A full day dedicated to Fes el-Bali, one of the world’s largest medieval cities. Walk the narrow derbs with your guide, stand on the tannery overlooks above the Chouara leather pits, and explore the ornate Bou Inania Madersa. Discover the ancient souks of spices, ceramics, and brass that have lined these lanes for centuries. Fes rewards those who take their time — today, you have it. Overnight in Fes.
Day 4 — Fes to Casablanca via Rabat
Leave Fes and travel northwest through the Middle Atlas foothills and across the fertile Atlantic plains. Stop in Rabat, Morocco’s elegant capital, for a walk along the Oudayas Kasbah and a glimpse of the Hassan Tower and Mohammed V Mausoleum. Continue south along the Atlantic coast road and arrive in Casablanca by late afternoon. Explore the Corniche or relax before dinner. Overnight in Casablanca.
Day 5 — Casablanca to Marrakech via the Highway
Begin the morning with a visit to the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, rising dramatically over the Atlantic Ocean. Then take the highway south through the Chaouia plains and arrive in Marrakech by early afternoon. Drop-off directly at your accommodation — with the rest of the day free to discover Djemaa el-Fna, the souks, and the magic of the Red City at your own pace.
