Itinerary
Day 1: Across the Middle Atlas to Sahara
Your guide picks you up from your Fes hotel and heads south through the cedar forests of Azrou, where Barbary macaques roam freely. The route descends through the Ziz Valley and the oasis town of Erfoud before arriving in Merzouga. As the sun sets over the Erg Chebbi dunes, you’ll mount a camel for a golden-hour trek to your desert camp. Dinner and live Gnawa music await under the stars.
Day 2: Gorges and Desert Valleys to Ouarzazte
After sunrise over the dunes, you leave Merzouga and head into the dramatic landscapes of the south. Stop at the breathtaking Todra Gorges, where 300-metre rock walls rise on either side. Continue through the scenic Dades Valley and visit the elegant Kasbah Amridil in Skoura, one of Morocco’s finest preserved kasbahs. Your overnight base is Ouarzazate — Morocco’s gateway to the desert.
Day 3: Ait Ben Haddou to Marrakech
Begin the morning at the Atlas Film Studios before exploring the legendary Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has appeared in dozens of major films. Then cross the High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with panoramic views over terracotta villages and mountain valleys. Your journey ends with a drop-off at your accommodation in Marrakech.
